Camp
Boogie is a day camp for children ages 6 -12 years old, held during the eleven-week summer break.
Camp
Boogie is held at Robb
Field Park and Recreation in Ocean Beach.
Our
relationship with San Diego Park and Recreation allows us to lower
costs and, thus, provide an affordable day camp. Our fees are approximately
half of what other day camps charge, and they include field trip
admission.
A
Typical Week at Camp Boogie
Every
week, Camp Boogie takes one "big" field trip. Some examples
of past field trips are Del Mar Fair, The Plunge, Knott's Soak City,
The Wave, Belmont Park, and Knott's Berry Farm. We
take our field trips on Thursdays.
Throughout
the week, we also take "small" field trips, usually to
places in walking distance. For example, at Robb Field, we go to
the beach and the tidepools.
When
we're not on field trips, we are at Robb Field Recreation Center making
arts and crafts, playing sports, learning new games, making new friends,
and just having a good time.
Safety
and Fun
At
Camp Boogie, our number one priority is keeping the children safe.
We maintain a 1:12 staff-to-camper ratio. Camp staff are first aid
and CPR certified. Children at Camp Boogie are always supervised
by a Camp Boogie staff member.
Our
second priority at Camp Boogie is FUN! We make sure children have
fun by providing great art projects, cool special events (like talent
shows and mini-olympics), non-competitve sports, and exciting field
trips. Our staff is fun, energetic, and share a love for children.
Most of our staff are future teachers, coming from SDSU's teacher
program.
